Chafer beetle damage plagued a helicopter repair facility I maintain in Richmond. This lawn area was in a parking lot where cars often parked over the lawn shading it and causing it to be weakened. Adult Chafer Beetles deposit their eggs into weakened lawn then Crows and other animals pull up the grass to eat the larvae that consume the grass roots.

We removed the damaged lawn and added soil and suitable garden plants. The plants provided a colourful display and did not harm cars when they parked over the garden. Chafer beetle generally attacks lawns that are cut too low, weakened by shade and abuse or improperly irrigated. If your lawn is properly cared for then your lawn should not have Chafer Beetle damage.
