As so common in new developments, plant health and their maintenance needs is not generally considered. This site had many design flaws. Here is a pathway beside a high use visitors parking area, sitting area and playground. The shrubs were not spaced out nicely or attractively and there wasn't much diversity. As a high visible area, it needed some pop!

We removed and transplanted some Carex (ornamental grasses) that were over-planted in another bed to give this area bright year round colour. We added some Heather (from another part of the site) for winter colour, and relocated the lavender to balance the bed. The summer daylilies were spaced properly too. This garden area will now be able to grow nicely without constant pruning.
